a Senior Citizens Welfare Programme. It started
functioning from 30th August 2007 under the supervision of Commissioner
& Special Officer, GHMC. Features
• Aasara Helpline 1253 for Senior Citizens
• Call Centre functions with the support of HelpAge India
as the nodal agency
• Camps organized all over the city: health check
up, eye testing, blood camps, supply of spectacles, wheelchairs,
etc.
• Identity cum Privilege cards issued to senior citizens
• Nearly 67,900 proud card-holders in Hyderabad
How to get the Card
• fill in the prescribed form
• proof of residence
• proof of age
• two passport-sized photos
